What We Offer

Wish Fish Program

Wish Fish

The Theatre Arts For Kids Kiwanis Builders Club is partnering with the Lincoln Down Syndrome Association for Families of Nebraska (DSAF) to encourage children with down syndrome and other disabilities and challenges to experience the benefits of theatre.  The Builders Club has raised funds to offer scholarships to DSAF children to participate in the program. This program is made possible in part by the generous support of the Nebraska Arts Council and The Nebraska Cultural Endowment!

With TAFK’s spring show, The Little Mermaid Jr., the Builders Club launched Wish Fish!  Wish Fish pairs a veteran TAFK student/Builder’s Club member with a child with a disability or challenge.  The Builders Club students are dedicated to the success of each Wish Fish!

TAFK’s Wish Fish program formalizes a mentorship program that has been building through the past many years.  The Builders Club intends for the Wish Fish program to continue for years to come making the benefits of theatre possible for all children despite any challenge.

Builders Club member, Ellyson Stolcpart (age 11) speaks highly of her experience working with one of our Wish Fish.  “Being on stage with Andy was the best experience of my life. He was having so much fun and was doing all of the dance moves. Having this opportunity to work with Andy was so much fun. It filled my heart with joy.”

Theatre Arts For Kids believes that theatre is for all the fish in the sea!
